Understanding Classical Homeopathy

German physician Samuel Friedrich Hahnemann (1755-1843) coined the term homeopathy from Greek homoios ‘like, similar, of the same kind’ and -patheia ‘disease’. The basic principle of the homeopathic system is of ‘treating like with like’.

In other words, if a person has symptoms similar to that of a poisonous snakebite, controlled use of snake venom will provide the cure, even if the cause is not an actual snakebite. This is not, except in the case of vaccines and antidotes, very different from mainstream medicine.

In fact, the theory can be traced back to Hypocrites, the father of modern medicine. The oath that every doctor historically takes before beginning patient care is called the Hippocratic Oath.

The goal of Classical Homeopathy

The aim of Classical Homeopathy goes beyond simply treating symptoms. Suppressing symptoms does not cure the disease that causes them. That is similar to painting over a wet patch on a wall without fixing the leaking pipe that causes the problem. It will soon reappear, maybe worse this time, demanding a more expensive attention.

If patterns of physical symptoms were suppressed, the underlying condition would certainly become worse. Classical Homeopathy focuses on the holistic treatment of the individual to achieve a balanced physical, emotional and mental health.

It gives you the freedom necessary for pursuing your own purpose and objectives in life. This may sound like hyperbole, but the growing popularity of Classical Homeopathy, coupled with scientific studies, is ample testimony to its effectiveness and lasting success.

The direct benefits

Any physical ailment affects inevitably your mind and spirit too. It is difficult for you to remain upbeat and creative when your body is sick. By providing a cure to the physical problem, the mind and spirit are set free to regain their own vital health. Classical Homeopathy has the following positive attributes:

  • Safe and non-toxic with no side effects
  • Safe for newborns, pregnant women and those who are chemically sensitive
  • Attuned to fight illnesses rather than suppress symptoms
  • Equipped to fortify body’s own powers and natural defenses to overcome illnesses
  • Effective in treating chronic diseases for which conventional medicine has no long-term cure
  • Unlike  conventional medicine, individually tailored in terms of type,  strength and combination of medicines for each patient

The classical homeopathic doctor

In every form of medicine, the doctor is the key. In Classical Homeopathy, the patient and the doctor are partners in the recovery. A classical homeopathic doctor is passionately committed to

  • Evaluate the patient on many levels of collective understanding of the patient’s troubling condition
  • Prescribe a course of treatment for the underlying cause of the ailment and not just the symptoms
  • Help the patient achieve lasting holistic wellness – physical, emotional and spiritual
  • Bestow love on patients for what they really are – good and not so good
  • Empathize with them in order to show proper emotional response coupled with objective prescription of appropriate medication
  • Display high standards of professional ethics
